Westland Whirlwind XG588/VR-BEP

Westland Whirlwind Srs.3: (serial XG588/VR-BEP). XG588 was begun as a military aircraft, but was then completed as the civil version. It has been used for aerial exploration work in Nigeria, survey work in the Middle East and the last operators, Bristow's, used the aircraft for oil rig support operations in Bermuda, hence the serial VR-BEP. The aircraft was then used as an instructional airframe by the Warden Park College, Cuckfield, West Sussex, and then donated to the Aeropark This aircraft is now on display next to the Wessex XT604.
